Biography

A painter. A graduate in Law, he started painting in 1926. In the early 1930s he often exhibited with Cagli and Cavalli, in the circle of the "School of Rome". After the war, a profound reappraisal led him to abstraction and to a personal form of painting that involved variations in a modular pseudo-graphic style. In 1949 he started his Superfici series. With Burri, Colla and Ballocco he founded the Gruppo Origine in 1951.
