Biography

A student at the Royal Military Academy in Turin, he studied painting under A. Beccaria and A. Gastaldi. In Paris (1849-53) he was commissioned by Minister La Marmora to make an album of lithographs on the campaigns of 1848-49. A professor at the Albertina, he drew horses for Victor Emmanuel and was a consultant for Marocchetti's monument to Charles Albert (1855). In 1881-91 he made the monument to La Marmora in Turin.
