Biography

He studied art in Modena, where he met Giorgio Morandi and made his debut in 1962. He soon shifted from painting to an object-based form of art, concentrating on the metaphorical figure of decontextualized objects and paintings that are broken or "disguised" in line with analogous associations of surrealist inspiration. One constant feature of his work is the aspiration of the work to be invisible and silent, in marked contrast to the sensationalisation of art.
